During week six we had no class, and as a result, a lot of time to work on our project by ourselves. So, matter of fact I kept going with the research of the six tracks I’m going to remix. Although it’s hard because the tracks could change as I would find myself stuck when I’m going to work in the remix. Now I have the possible six tracks which are: ‘Volare (Nel Blu Dipinto di Blu)’ by Domenico Modugno, ‘O Sole Mio’ a lot of various versions, I will try remixing the one by Luciano Pavarotti, ‘Con te Partirò (Time to Say Goodbye)’ by Andrea Bocelli, ‘Felicità’ by Al Bano and Romina Power, ‘Gloria’ by Umberto Tozzi and ‘Ti Amo’ by Umberto Tozzi.

I chose these tracks because they are some of the most famous and popular Italian songs in the world, as I previously said in my presentation, I want to give these tracks a new life and a broader audience hopefully. Also, I like these songs, and it would be cool to listen to them in a modern way, which unfortunately I don’t really have the chance to do with Italian modern music as i don’t really like it. Without saying that remixing old pop classics is a thing that really works in the music industry nowadays. It’s been done lots of times especially in the last decade it’s been a trend that has been rising and rising. For example songs like ‘Elton John, Dua Lipa – Cold Heart (PNAU Remix)’ that were really famous in its own time are taken and remixed and sound so good even nowadays, sometimes even more than the original ones.

I also had some starting ideas for the first remix that i will be doing for the song ‘‘Volare (Nel Blu Dipinto di Blu)’ by Domenico Modugno’. I researched as well for techniques of remixing.
